About Us

Hi!

Thanks for coming to find out about the Team behind Back Pocket Designs!

We are a small family team, there is Ruth (the crafty one), and Matt (the business man), and we have two little guys that like to join in on the fun too.

We live in Rural Auckland in the beautiful country of New Zealand.  While Matt heads off to his 'real' work everyday in the city, I, Ruth stay behind with the little guys and ship them around to school and kindy, and in my spare 'working' time (hmm I do question that so called spare time!), I love to get crafty on the sewing machine.

When did Back Pocket Designs begin?  Just recently in January 2012!
I am a Hairdresser by trade so I have always been creative, and I love to make things for my friends and family. Over time I have had prompting by my friends and family to make my goodies to sell, so both Matt and I toyed with the idea and decided to go for it! So it was then that Back Pocket Designs was started.
We have this site here, our page on Facebook (find the link on the sidebar) and we are making our way to some craft markets in our local area (dates and times will be announced in The Diary when they come about).

I am obsessed with Aprons (they are just so practical and cute!), and I love bags (who doesn't love a gorgeous bag?), so over time my designs have developed into what they are now, and continue to evolve.  I also like to try my hand at other things crafty (although I will confess here that I cannot draw!), I like to knit, am learning to crochet, and I like to make jewelry and other cute things like that. I also love my garden, and draw some inspiration from digging in the dirt with the veges and smelling the wonderful scents that float around the flower beds.

Anyway, enough about us!
